Mr. Choo has more than 35 years experience in exploration and mining geology, and considerable expertise in resources investment. He is currently head of Strategic Planning and Investments / Consulting Geologist of Straits Resource Management Private Limited (SRM), general managers for the Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad (MSC) Group of companies. The business focus of the MSC group is in tin, gold, nickel, copper and coal.

 

Mr. Colin Warburton

Colin Warburton is currently the General Manager of Control Risks in the Republic of the Philippines and is operationally responsible for that country. Colin joined the company in May 2008.

 

Colin served for a period of thirty-one years in the United Kingdom Police Service, retiring in 2000 in the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent. During his time in the United Kingdom police service Colin was a career detective and had experience of working in all regions of the United Kingdom. In addition to carrying out major crime investigations in the United Kingdom Colin has conducted a number of major crime investigations overseas, particularly in the Caribbean region. He is an experienced Hostage Negotiator and Interview Techniques Instructor.

He began working at the bullion merchant bank Samuel Montagu, now part of HSBC and completed the two year wholesale bank graduate programme, including secondments to Montagu Mining Finance and New York. In 1992 he began working for the commodity broker CL Rouse (now Calyon) specialising in commodity-linked products, both hedging and investor products with emphasis on over-the-counter hedging instruments. In 1995 he moved to JPMorganChase and was responsible for base and precious metals marketing for Europe & Middle East, before joining Barcap in 2002, as a commodity sales and finally joining Standard Chartered in November 2005 to lead the origination effort for commodities in SEA situated in Singapore.

Graeme along with a few other industry professionals formed Resource Advisors as a boutique consultancy working on the areas of human resources, social and management consulting. Since forming Resource Advisors, Graeme and his colleagues have undertaken small and large assignments around the world from Nigeria to Argentina, Washington to Sydney, and many places in between.

 

In the major focus for Resource Advisors is providing input into the sustainable and responsible development of the minerals sector. Specifically this means addressing the human resource needs of the re-emerging industry and providing sustainable social development strategies.

 

Mr. Michael Carrick

Michael Carrick is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in the resources sector. He was previously Executive Chairman of AGR Limited, the entity which owned and developed the Boroo Gold Project in Mongolia, and Chief Executive Officer of Resolute Limited, one of Australia’s largest gold producers. Prior to joining Resolute, Mr. Carrick was a senior partner of Arthur Andersen.

 

Mr. Carrick holds degrees majoring in economics, law, business administration and accounting and has been responsible for the acquisition, development and operation of a number of major gold projects, both in Australia and internationally.

Peter is in charge of Ernst and Young’s Mining and Metals industry practice in China and leads our ECU audit practice in Shanghai. He has an extensive portfolio of multi national and local clients, principally in the mining, chemicals, and applied materials sectors.

 

Recently, Peter provided accounting and audit assistance to the US venture capital fund that was successful in acquiring Jiamusi Coal Mine Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. and Jixi Coal Mine Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. from the Government of Heilongjiang Province. These two companies manufacture and sell coal mining equipment to the major coal mining operators in China.

Rolly practically witnessed and played a key role in the development of the risk management practice in the country having spearheaded pioneering “projects” in establishing and implementing risk management frameworks.

 

Atty. Roy Joseph M. afols

Assumed the post of senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of the Philippine Stock Exchange in October 2007. Concurrently, he heads the Issuer Regulation Division. Before joining the Company, he was the senior executive vice president and COO of the Government Service Insurance System, the retirement and pension fund for government employees. He was also the president and COO of Advent Capital Finance Corporation, an investment house with equity interest in firms that were in such businesses as life insurance, pre- need, venture capital and securities brokerage, among others.
